New Vicar, Rev. H Watson, visits Masterton, 1908

The Rev. H. Watson, M.A., and Mrs Watson, of Aramoho, spent a few hours in Masterton yesterday. We understand that Mr Watson has been nominated to the vacant cure of St. Matthew's. The parish should congratulate itself on the nomination, as Mr Watson has a very high name as worker and preacher in the Wanganui county. He was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, and took very high mathematical honours, being senior optime. After serving in the North of England for four years he was appointed in 1902 to his present charge, which has grown greatly under his care.
